When Young People Grow, Communities Grow With Them
Young people from Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian (MENASA) backgrounds bring valuable experiences, perspectives, and strengths to their communities. However, finding mental wellness support that understands their culture, identity, family, and values can be difficult.
Peer Minds creates culturally responsive opportunities for youth and young adults to connect, learn, and grow. Through peer support, education, mentorship, and leadership development, participants can strengthen their wellness without separating it from who they are.
We believe young people are more than program participants. They have the potential to become mentors, educators, advocates, and leaders who create meaningful change within their families and communities.
By equipping them with the tools to lead and educate, we are collectively building a stronger, more resilient support system where every MENASA youth can thrive.
Mission
Our mission is to empower MENASA youth and young adults to strengthen their mental wellness, build meaningful connections, and grow into leaders who support their communities. We accomplish this through culturally responsive peer support, education, mentorship, and leadership development.
Vision
We envision MENASA communities where every young person can speak openly about mental wellness, access culturally responsive support, and contribute to a more connected and emotionally healthy future.
We believe people should not have to separate their culture, identity, faith, family experiences, or values from their mental wellness. Support should feel human, respectful, and relevant to the people receiving it. Through connection, education, and shared leadership, Peer Minds helps community members learn from one another and create positive change together.
